Beijing "intentionally concealed the severity" of the coronavirus pandemic from the world in early January, according to the US Department of Homeland Security.

Why do you repost these nasty war-mongering lies from a nation that's clearly going to pieces?

The Chinese are the single greatest benefactor of the Covid 19 pandemic being the only country on the planet with the manufacturing capabilities of producing the masks /gowns /gloves etc that the World now requries .

The overwhelming demand for the KN95 and much better medical N95 masks are mostly only able to be met by the Chinese , as the demand has increased so have prices - making hay whilsts the sun shines etc

Typical Trump tactic. In psychology this is called "lets you and he fight" mean while the problem continues, and Trump´s supporters can rationalize their idiotic support. Yes, racism exists, and will only get worse, when it gets tossed into the mix. Note the jury is still out as to who or what in China might have caused the problem, or could have done to prevent it.

Australia's attempts to appeal to reason and have a truly non-partisan coronavirus inquiry appear to have sparked a nationalistic debate between the United States and China, writes Philip Williams.

Australia doesn't appear to have made any effort to be a good neighbour and cooperate.

Cowards all - 12 carrier groups drive compiliance in Canberra as everywhere else.

I'd have said that China has been moderately cooperative.

There is a case that the Wuhan laboratory had an accident and was shut down in October. But there's simply no way to know whether what we're hearing is genuine.

There is always the danger of throwing unfair blame about when the 20/20 hindsight kicks in.

And China will surely take a defensive stance against any international inquiry.  It's a logical gut response.

But any systemic failings have to be unearthed and called out, as it is the only chance the world has in preventing the next global pandemic.

That is what I want the investigation to look at.  Unfortunately, there are deeply stupid people in positions of power who will jeopardise China's cooperation with spurious claims about bioweapons made in labs.
