The folks in Gaza elected fairly and squarely to have Hamas as their Government and leaders that was back in about 2006 since then there has been no further elections so it is speculative if Hamas remains as popular or not however they are in charge in Gaza 

This is not a jousting match , they sling 2500/2800 rockets indiscriminately into Israel including their latest J-75 and J-80 (both indicate mileage) Iranian supplied and developed and if we wanted them wiped off the face of this earth they would be but they are not

Hamas intelligence office - was in the building and the News papers all knew about it , they know where the rockets are being fired from (Hospital roofs / school yards you name it ) they know that most of the military leadership is in the basement of the El Shifah Hospital where their central control and command is , every single news agency in the World knows all of this
