Over 1,000 people are unaccounted for in one German region alone as unusually heavy rains and floods lash western Europe.

Parts of London were flooded by a downpour last week but nothing as bad as has happened in Germany and Belgium.    Climate change. The once in a thousand year events are becoming much more frequent.

There is also something going on with the moon.  It's having a bit of a wobble, that could play havoc with the tides.

It's a natural cycle and won't have a big effect until the early 2030s. Of course it may make things much worse for a year or two.

The death toll from flooding in Western Europe climbed above 180 on Sunday after rescue workers dug deeper into debris left by receding waters. Police put the toll from the hard-hit Ahrweiler area of western Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate state at more than 110 and said they feared the number may still rise.

This is just a taste of the weather changes to come. Govs need to take precautions for repeat events. I wish it would stop Brits from building houses on flood plains but no-one believes it can happen to them until it does.
