Dancing FBI agent drops and fires gun in nightclub

An off-duty FBI agent has unintentionally shot a man in the leg after his gun fell from his holster while doing a backflip at a bar in Denver, Colorado. It d...

An off-duty FBI agent dancing wildly at a downtown Denver bar has accidentally shot a man in the leg while trying to pick up a gun that fell from its holster as he performed a backflip, Denver police say.

A bystander recorded video of the incident, which authorities said happened at the Mile High Spirits and Distillery night spot.

The video was shared widely online.

In a statement, the Denver Police Department said the agent "was dancing at a night club when his firearm became dislodged from its waistband holster and fell onto the floor".

"When the agent retrieved his handgun, an unintended discharge occurred."

Another bar patron was hit by the bullet in the lower leg, sustaining a non-life-threatening injury, a statement by department spokeswoman Marika Putnam said.

The agent was taken to police headquarters, Ms Putnam said, and later released to a Federal Bureau of Investigation supervisor.

The Denver district attorney's office will decide whether to press any charges against the agent.

Denver district attorney spokesman Ken Lane said by email that the DA's office had no comment as the incident remains under investigation by the Denver police.

Denver FBI spokeswoman Amy Sanders also said Denver police are leading the investigation and that it was a "personnel matter for the FBI".

She did not say if the FBI had or would discipline the agent.

Oh, for crying out loud!!!

A Nile crocodile is waiting with its body submerged under the river water, waiting for its prey.

A baptism in Ethiopia has gone horribly wrong, with a crocodile attacking and killing the pastor during a waterside service.

Eighty people were gathered at Lake Abaya while Docho Eshetem, the Protestant clergyman, conducted a mass baptism in the shallow water.

"He baptised the first person and he passed on to another one," a local resident told the BBC.

"All of a sudden, a crocodile jumped out of the lake and grabbed the pastor."

According to The Telegraph, members of the congregation looked on in horror as fishermen attempted to rescue the pastor.

Despite their efforts to block the crocodile with their nets, by the time they reached Mr Eshetem he was already dead.

Lake Abaya is well known for having a large crocodile population.

The Lonely Planet warns the crocodiles can be aggressive towards people and animals because the lake has few fish.

Reports say it was likely a Nile crocodile that killed the pastor, as the species is thought to be responsible for more than 300 attacks on humans every year in Africa.

The reptiles can grow to be up to six metres long and weigh as much as one tonne.

Let me explain this to you.  The USA KGB is not quite as competent as the Keystone Kops.

It is an organization of total incompetents, from top to bottom.

Penka the cow in its barn eating hay

Bulgaria has agreed to spare the life of a cow after plans to kill it for crossing European Union borders without paperwork triggered an international outcry.

Penka wandered away from its herd near the Bulgarian village of Mazarachevo last month and walked out of the EU into neighbouring Serbia.

When it was returned two weeks later, authorities said it would have to be put down as it had violated guidelines under which animals entering the European Union have to have papers verifying their health.

Penka's plight prompted protests on social media, particularly in Britain where eurosceptic campaigners and publications held it up as a victim of Brussels bureaucracy.

Animal rights campaigners, including former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, signed petitions asking Bulgaria to save the five-year-old animal.

The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency agreed to review the case and said on Monday that lab tests had given it a clean bill of health.

"It is expected the animal will be allowed back to her former home in the village of Mazarachevo by the end of the week," the agency said.

Michael Jackson's old elephant escapes from Jacksonville zoo

Ali the bull elephant lifts its trunk.

An elephant that once lived at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch briefly escaped its enclosure at a Florida zoo.

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens posted on Facebook that Ali the bull elephant wandered through a gate that was accidentally left open on Sunday and wound up in a courtyard behind the giraffe and elephant barn.

"What do you do when an elephant ends up in a yard he's not supposed to be in? You moonwalk him back to his proper enclosure!" the zoo said.

"Zoo staff immediately jumped into action to get the big guy back where he belonged.

"His keepers were able to quickly and safely walk Ali back into his enclosure with some food encouragement.

"All in all, Ali was out of his yard for 20 minutes."

The zoo said guests were not endangered.

Ali the bull elephant came to the zoo in 1997 from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch, the Facebook post said.
