The massive difference came when we introduced a kitten to an established dog.
The entire dynamic shifted and they adore each other.
We picked Anabel up from the cattery on the way home from the holiday, then Harry the next day.
She was SO happy to see him when he got home. She followed him everywhere.

That is so sweet. I miss having a kitty, keep threatening to walk in the door with one. I even responded to a post claiming to have pure-bred Maine Coon kittens to give away. Sounded too good to be true, so followed my gut and did not respond. Additionally, I don't know how our 7 yr english bulldog will respond to a new kitten. Right now, he is the baby in the house and fully embraces that. Where I am, he is. He is sleeping on my foot right now, and I have no idea when I'll be able to move.
The pic is awesome - thanks.

This is them now.
They both have to follow me into the bathroom every morning, then proceed to start playfighting.
This continues down the hall and into the kitchen.
The only concern with bulldogs are the eyes. The squashed noses make them more susceptible to cat scratches.

So many of those cats appeared to have just had enough baby for one day.

Some of them remind me of a line in the song "Juan Sin Miedo".
