The study shows that there are a lot of countries that are not reporting their covid deaths accurately.

And that in some countries, the number of covid deaths is as much as 10 times greater than reported.

India would be a perfect example of under-reported deaths.

Just the logistics of keeping any accurate data on a population that size is impossible.

I think the Indian Civil Service will be able to record the deaths but the numbers are so overwhelming that cause of death will be ignored.

Mucormycosis,

Yes, I posted about mucormycosis in another forum a couple of days ago. It's the last thing coronavirus sufferers in India needed.

I agree that the situation in India is dreadful, despite it being a major producer of vaccines. I note the Indian Gov has ordered social media not to refer to the 'Indian variant'.

"India's government has instructed social media companies to remove any content that refers to the "Indian variant" of Covid-19.

The IT ministry said the World Health Organization (WHO) listed the variant as B.1.617 and any reference to "Indian" was false."

It wouldn't surprise me if a border war broke out between India and Pakistan over Kashmir. There have been several already. And, of course, China has its own border disputes with India and is friends with Pakistan.
