Either US technology operated by the Saudis cannot sink ships with 99% certainty - or else this was some kind of terrorist attack.

Though it is true that the Israelis once failed to sink a ship (sailing on an empty sea in bright sunshine) with quite sophisticated weapons. Tried for 2 hours before they abandoned the attempt and put it down to "Friendly Fire".

If the US or the Saudis wanted the ship sunk it would now be at the bottom of the Straits , our armchair general seriously has no idea , the attack similar to the previous Iranian attack was a reminder of what is possible

Of course it would.

The fact its not been sunk is a strong indication that it was not a state operator that carried out this attack.

Iran launches a new batch of advanced centrifuges to accelerate its uranium enrichment, further reducing compliance with the 2015 US nuclear deal.

The US abrogated that deal - even while the rest of the world believed that Iran was coming back into compliance with international law and norms (no matter how grossly perverted they are by Israel).

Iran is in enormous danger from the US (and Israel) and will continue to be that way until it can retaliate effectively.

Decent people might even think that the sooner that that can happen the better - hopefully without tanking their economy and society, as the US succeeded in doing to the USSR.

Decent people will also wish good luck to the North Koreans.

And to Lebanon - except it looks as if we're sacrificing them to the people we mustn't crticise.

Iran is turning the heat up , their economy is failing , they understand that the US can watch and wait so their reply is to ratchet up the tension in a measured effort to bring the US into find some form of accomodation .

Neither the US or the Arab Gulf states / Emirates or Saudi Arabia are looking for war , that would be the ultimate last resort.

The Iranians are very smart , the US is also equally as smart and this is about who blinks first , Trump knows he will bring Iran to its knees so the Iranians have to find some form of bargaining chip which ramping up production will do - I dont expect much to happen other than further sanctions which will include the Iranian air line will be forbidden to fly and its vessels will be ultimately stopped from leaving ports , it is on the cards and this Iran wants to avoid

Israel is You're intent on devastating a nation of 80 million people, just as the US has devastated Iraq (25 million) and you've almost certainly devastated Lebanon and Syria (with lots of help from the US).

You're intent on bringing about Holocaust II, killing 60 or 600 million Muslims and possibly WW3.

And you're quite open about it, you're not going to mend your ways, you're not going to stop beating and robbing and killing people from their homes - as you told us.

In June 2011, under Netanyahu and in his addresses to Knesset, Israel committed itself and us to WW3 by declaring this was an "eternal conflict".

"By declaring the conflict insoluble, Netanyahu is dooming Israel to live eternally by the sword, leaving no opening for reconciliation and understanding with the Palestinians and the Arab and Muslim world". https://www.haaretz.com/1.5022442

That's when you changed your tune and started admitting the real nature of the evil you endorse "the IDF has predicted an eternal conflict with no end and i am unfortunately going to go with their analysis".

Iran's President announces the discovery of a new oil field with more than 50 billion barrels of crude - a find that could boost the country's proven reserves by a third.

I'm suspicious.

If this was a new find, it would not be reported - what for, when it only makes an attack by the US look even more profitable?

If its an old find, no reason for reporting it now - other than to encourage the population to resist regime change and the terrible fate of the Iraqis.

We do a lot of lies about the people we wish to destroy - in this case, we may have forced them into lying back.
