The Houthi are armed by Tehran , they are trained and financed by Tehran and Saudi Arabia is a major opponent of Iran .

Iran does want to be involved in any direct conflict with any of the major players so they use their Proxies this is the reality of how Iran fights.

The wider picture is the change of US President and the Iranians are seeing how he will react (they attacked in Iraq a major US BASE and so far the US has not responded this is a sign of enormous weakness on the part of Biden ) 

To get Iran back to the table over their Nuclear Deal Biden will need the support of the Gulf States / Saudi Arabia and Israel and I am guessing they will give him a tiny room to wriggle , the Iranians are so much smarter than the Americans

Of course it will get worse , the Saudi have in their arsenal some real big toys and they wont take it lying down with the HOUTHI / Iran this they will not permit

This increase in activity is also to test the US and see what they are ready to do or not do , the less the US does the more likely the Saudis will look to cause ever more problems in Yemen and even into Iran

The United Nations keeps a HANDS OFF policy in dealing with Saudi Arabia.  Y isn't the UN chastising S.A. for what it's doing in Yemen?  THAT is the $64 Question.    It's about MONEY and  keeping our Arms industry happy and prosperous.  

There hasn't been a US president that's been willing or able to break away from Saudi Arabia.

In the meantime Syria civilians starve because of S.A. and our behavior.

Still I hope we sit down with Iran to reinstate that nuclear treaty.  And remove the sanctions which only hurt the people not the leaders.

To reinstate the agreement will take more than the Iranians it will take several states in the region to see that the deal is CLEARLY in their favor
