I'll have to remember to ask my grandson, who is also a U of Connecticut freshman this year, how many students are wearing bulletproof backpacks.  He'll have to wait UNTIL CLASSES OPEN BACK UP though.  Your newspaper editors should check their sources.

Well, until he became a university freshman, he was a child, from kindergarten through 12th grade, in Newtown, CT schools.  He was in 3rd grade when the shooting happened.  NONE of his classmates ever wore a bulletproof backpack to school, that he was aware of.
