You are missing another aspect of this, Yes, he did write the letter, but he properly sent it up through channels, but somewhere between him sending it and where it was recieved, it was leaked and became subject. So to me the guilty party is the one who leaked the message, not the message, which we would not know of had it not been leaked. I have seen no evidence that the Captain violated approved channels, important to be kept secret so those up the food chain can take proper action. By "punishing" this capitan, there is a message, if you have such thoughts and ideas, keep them to yourself and do not pass them up the line.

Bloody obvious really - there is no way he'd have wanted such a complaint be made public and (as is increasingly happening) it was sort-of whistle-blown by another (malicious? or genuinely worried?)

Just another case of the victim of (possible) malice being punished while the perpetrator of (likely) malice gets off.

It seems to be happening a lot. For example, yes, Spain has been a serious victim, but the graph shows improvement, where the U.S. stats keep climbing. This being the case, probably because I live in Spain, am getting all these messages from the U.S. about how bad it is where I am.

OT but possibly of interest. I have heard of no serious examples of people violating the curfew, and as this continues it would be expected. But in the U.S. we have politicians and church leaders publicly challenging it.

Since with the time and warmer weather, there Will be stress from people tired of being locked up. Today I just experienced a rather tacit message that our government still serious. I did not need to grocery shopping, but wanted some fruit. So decided to make my second trip outside the village, stopping at the fruiters first. When the Clerk saw me about to chuck the receipt, she said keep it you might need it. OK?¿?¿ I drove into the big box store Correfour in Palma and discovered a change, Before everything was taped off except food and books, this time books were also taped off, so I went to the manager, who said new orders it seems, and this is logical, that when you read a book you pass it on (along with your germs) especially in times like this. OK, thanks. But while I was there I figured I could skip a stop at the local super by purchasing some things I did not need yet, olive oil, yougurt, etc. and kept the receipt. Good thing because all the private cars are stopped at the last roundabout before my village. The CV asked why I was out of the village, I explained. He asked if I had a receipt, which he took and scanned along with my I.D. card. 2 months ago I would have considered this an intrusión, but now thinking about it if this afternoon at Correfouer, my name and timed receipt would make a person of interest. A rather strong message, when compared to Trump´s daily briefing via an unsprayed microphone surrounded by his enablers, hand shaking and back slapping while breathing the same air.

We have newspaper reports of groups ignoring the lockdown but I'm not seeing anything like that.

We have no politicians preaching anything different.

Did you hear about the Chief Medical Officer in Scotland? Travelled on two weekends 50 miles to Fife, once with family, 2nd time alone. Been forced to resign.

As I said, my being checked was more of a message to people of what would happen if violations got out of hand. I have not Heard of any "rebellions" similar to some reported in London. Just a few individuals. In the U.S. the defiance seems to be coming from or inspired by ministers of the Christian right, who feel that the only solution in prayer, and other actions are acts of distrust of God (back story who did this to punish humanity - for the usual stuff - gays, sex, socialism, etc.).

I did not either. The problema is with headlines, that often imply something not found unless one reads the entire URL. In this case it was not even there either,

but I found it as a result of reading the reaction to the captain´s replacement.

Since the last time I was on the net, you sent me three messages: 9:20 9:56 9:59 I recieved the last two, but the 9:20 was deleted for <<SOME>> reason, it is now 12:47 local time.

If you still want to send the 9:20 one, perhaps you should figure out some unoffensive code, to repost that message.
