That's funny, Di.  I watched the same press conference as it was being held.  Instead of a polished politician whose every utterance is written by someone else, I heard a builder who speaks the same way most of us do - unrehearsed, speaking the thoughts before the words are organised into "polite" sentences, proud of what is being built under his leadership.  That is why he was elected.  He speaks the same language as us deplorables.  The sad truth is, there is not one candidate on the left that speaks truth to the American people, not one!  Whether or not Trump does or doesn't, at least we common folk feel he has our interests at heart, as well as his own.  Speaking of ANY candidate, it doesn't matter what unsavory hijinks he (or she) got up to before taking office, unless they were illegal.  Physical appearance doesn't matter.  Sadly, personal morals don't matter.  I don't know any saints, do you?  Appearing to speak from the heart, in a manner recognizable to those listening, is what gets a message across.  That, and the very obvious tilt to the far left by the democrats, is what will get Trump re-elected.

If you call the people’s language as incoherent as Trump’s in this and other non-scripted harangues, the state of affairs in your country are worse than I thought.

The hyperbole, the disjointed subjects and equally disjointed grammar, the self-congratulations, the lies and other statements which he denies 5 minutes late while being shown their videos, are signs of an unstable mind.

He in no way represents to me “the way of the common man’s communication”.

where I do agree with you is that the Dems do not have their ducks in line and will probably facilitate his reelection.

Apart from Mitch, Lindsay Graham is another one on my list of unsufferable miscreants, who are not worth the salaries and other benefits, such as healthcare which they deny millions of their constituents, and think of nothing other than perpetuating themselves in their seats.

The ever revolving door of the administration, where you are praised today and gone tomorrow, the choice of candidates for important posts who have to withdraw before their confirmation because of previous misdeeds, shows you the most fickle of personality. Trump, with an attention span of a pre-schooler needs a new BF as well as a new Best Enemy, every day to substitute those “interests” which he forgot occupied his mind for a few days or hours.

I wont go on, else I sound like Goss, but there are many more signs that he is unfit, not only for this tenure, but certainly will have to be medicated in a second time around.

P.S. I spared you the many illegalities and abuses of power, the nepotism and his racism.

Yes, Di.  We are a nation of non-thinking, incoherent, disjointed and illiterate people.  So happy for you, intellectual that you are, that you apparently live where there is no free expression of thought, only what is politically correct.  You must be very happy and at ease.  No freedom of speech or thought - not for me, thank you.

I came back to this post to ease your mind - 2024 will most likely see democrats take power, and hold onto it for many years, thanks to the entrance into the voting arena of millions of liberally educated youngsters.  As I and my husband did, they will vote democrat until they see what those policies do to their pocketbooks and to the people of this country at large.  Hopefully, the country won't be in a fully socialist state by that time.  Thankfully, if it does go that way, I won't be around to see it.  I worry for my children and grandchildren.  They will see their hopes and dreams go the way of the cuckoo.  They will be expending their talents and energy on behalf of the state, with very little to no reward for themselves.

You will never really understand what it means to live in the U.S.  Rail against us as you will, this is the only place left for people of free-will to live.

You are quite mistaken, I do indeed live in countries, both in Europe and in the Caribbean, with freedom of expression and thought. Were kids got school or university with getting shot. I know that most Americans know more about socialites than about socialism. Where people get very, very good healthcare and where the “deplorables” get minimum pensions when in need. Nothing as humiliating as foodstamps.

We have our problems but people get wealthy if they strife and where not having a lot of money is not shameful. We take care of our infrastructure, we believe in clean air, clean water and leaving as good a future for our youth. We believe in climate change, try to contribute to its improvement, and we stick to our treaties and commitments with our allies and neighbours.

I know very well how it is to live in the US, from coast to coast, I do not rail against your country, or its inhabitants, but against a bunch of useless politicians and their uncouth boss.

P.S. We also are not in the habit of shooting our Presidents.

Then why would you vote for someone who not only denies the scientific evidence of global warming, but actively loosens the regulations for big polluters?

Except here in Australia.  And Canada, and Belgium, and France and New Zealand and Scotland and 40% of the rest of the world.
