There are many camps across Syria and prisons but not enough men to guard and defend the prisons so in some cases a few thousand dollars see's men released
ISIL are EXTREMELY clever extremely well led and very well informed , Syrians hate Assad more than ISIL (for the moment) .
SYRIA per se has ceased to exist , there are now 125 Iranian military camps in Syria there are Russians / Turks / Kurds / US and for sure Israelis all looking to out match each each other

Taliban spokesperson claims they respect women, but some Afghans fear return to 'dark age'
The Taliban's spokesperson says the organisation "respects" women and that stories about repression are propaganda. But a leading female Afghan politician says the Taliban are brutally targeting women's rights.

With the US departure the Taliban have in essence won , what they do now is wholly up to them , they will quickly take control of the country and no doubt put in place the strictest variants of Shariah law , women will be 3rd class chattel with almost no rights or say in their soclety .
I am sure the US knew all of this was going to occur

The Taliban will eventually take over the country , they will enforce the worst elements of Shariah Law and punish the tens of thousands who had helped the Americans in one way or the other , an ignominious ending to the US efforts

The US ran out of steam , with all these conflicts so far from their home the US starts well then flounders then puts its hands up and in the end is seen as despite their incredible power as being weak , to win these conflicts you have to be more vicious than your enemy , if you are not then it is a matter of time before the body bag count becomes one too many even though US loses were light .
The face of modern warfare has changed beyond recognition and today it is fought in the cities with civilian casualties being seen as ammunition to the terrorist and a deterrent to the other side

To reach a peace deal, Taliban say Afghan president must go

The Taliban will retake Afghanistan and first and foremost take reprisals against every body and anybody who assisted the US .
The void left by the US is similar to the mess we left behind in Gaza and before that in Lebanon in each case our worst enemies stepped into the breech .
