First evacuation flight brings 221 Afghans, many kids, to US
WASHINGTON (AP) - The first flight evacuating Afghans who worked alongside Americans in Afghanistan brought more than 200 people, including scores of children and babies in arms, to new lives in the United States on Friday, and President Joe Biden said he was proud to welcome them home.

You know, back in 1980, when this all began, we tried to stop it. Not just here in Iowa, but all over the USA.
Draft Registration was brought back to fight the War in Afghanistan.
Here in Iowa, we said, "no".
You'd be amazed at how many forums I've been kicked out of here on Delphi just for saying, "no" to War and "no" to the draft over the last couple of decades. (Some folks even talk about it here in this forum today.) It didn't matter whether they were "conservative" forums or "liberal" forums. No dissent was allowed here at Delphi when it comes to War, except for a tiny handfull of forums.
It will be interesting to see what those same folks say now about accepting the rather predictable flood of refugees created by 40 years of War.
