Military take over always on the cards in Myanmar. The huge election victory for Aung San Suu Kyi  was the clincher. 

One of a number of undemocratic/military controlled/fascist/communist countries that I'd never visit.

The army and police  control the country. A measure of public displeasure will be allowed, but only a major split in the military will change things.

I hope not. Although receiving huge criticism from the Left for compromising with the military, she's the best hope for a democratic Myanmar.

The protests might help. 

As long as they stay peaceful... so probably not.
