It seems to me that at 0:35, the protester pulling Hodge's gas mask off of his face ... did so ... to help Hodge's breathe more easily. If he was attempting to hurt Hodge's he easily could have, but from what we could see the protester did not touch Hodge's after he removed the mask.
At 1:18, it appears that the protester in the red knit hat is trying to get help for Hodges; she asked him at 1:28, "Are you OK"? Hodges responds, "Yay."
At 1:47 a protester (in a brown jacket) taps a police officer on the shoulder and starts pointing, and making other hand gestures, at 1:49 the police officer nods to the protester; what was that communication about? I'd like to know.
