And finally, on Christmas Eve, the deal has been done. Of course we don't know what's in the deal, yet. The fishermen are saying they're not happy, but since they don't have enough boats to take up the slack as the EU reduces its catch, they may be complaining to persuade the Gov to provide a few nice new shiny trawlers for them. We shall see.

The United Kingdom exits the European Union's orbit on Thursday, turning its back on a tempestuous 48-year liaison with the European project for an uncertain Brexit future that will shape the fortunes of its people for generations to come.

We will shape our own future. The EU will shape its future. Can't argue with that.

'Rat deserting a sinking ship' comes to mind.

Does the son inherit the same nationality passport?

You forget that Stanley Johnson campaigned for Remain throughout the Brexit campaign and only changed his mind three years later, when it was quite clear the cause was lost.  Respecting democracy doesn't make him a 'rat'.

He may qualify for French citizenship because his mother was French.

His pro-EU daughter, Rachel has also talked about applying for French citizenship.

Boris, on the other hand was born in the US and his mother's side of the family were Turkish and German and of course, one of his grandmothers was French.

I believe Boris renounced all claim to US citizenship some time ago and doubt if the Turkish fascist Gov would welcome him after his criticisms of Erdogan.
