That's huge, almost unbelievable.
Over 100 million have been vaccinated, but that's not a tenth of the population.
It'll get worse before it gets better, I'm afraid.

It was a mix of complacency and lack of preparation that did it.
It took only a few weeks for COVID-19 complacency to turn into an overwhelming sense of despair, anguish, and anger. Now India, drowning under a surge of cases, "feels like a country that is broken".

There is a research report out examining excess deaths against covid deaths across the world. As you might expect, some countries declared covid deaths are very close to the reality, but there are other countries where declared covid deaths are not 10% of the real number.
