There is a research report out examining excess deaths against covid deaths across the world. As you might expect, some countries declared covid deaths are very close to the reality, but there are other countries where declared covid deaths are not 10% of the real number.

The study shows that there are a lot of countries that are not reporting their covid deaths accurately.
And that in some countries, the number of covid deaths is as much as 10 times greater than reported.

India would be a perfect example of under-reported deaths.
Just the logistics of keeping any accurate data on a population that size is impossible.

I think the Indian Civil Service will be able to record the deaths but the numbers are so overwhelming that cause of death will be ignored.
