Glamour can do a lot... I'm taking out the parts of the superfluous "musical play", and highlighting her exploits, so as to show what Butina might have been trying to do. Except that Butina was working for Russia.

As best I can tell Butina went to the US to take a husband. Its unlikely she would ever have wished to settle back in Russia - or indeed, was "trained" to be of any use to them. They'd have taught her not to boast of her contacts to her girl-friends.
To say that Josephine Barker was "[not] given the credit [she] deserved." is ludicrous - she was treated diabolically in the US and forced out of there again.

Allow me to introduce an actual NAZI.
Hannah Reitsch is one of my heros. She was a test pilot for Luftwaffe, holder of more than 20 aviation records. Please watch the whole thing and consider what job your grandmother would be allowed to do in 1930s in USA the land of the free.
Prejudiced Nazis? Hannah dated Kwame Nkruma when she worked on the Ghana AF training, which USA news was very happy with believing it was "miscegenation" a point against the famous Nazi. This is a real person not a Hollywood creation, member of the inner circle, personal friend of the Fuhrer, a German idol.
Another hero of mine is Josephine Baker. Madame Baker gathered intelligence for the French resistance by dating high ranking Nazis.
*** Please notice *** Being a Black lady was never an issue in dating the Nazis. Do you recall any US or UK generals dating Black ladies in the ww2 era?
This was definitely an issue with high rank French also. When Madame Baker got her military decorations (belatedly) from the French government, de Gaulle did not show up at the ceremony (as appropriate because national level decorations were involved). M. Baker's medals were presented by the Resistance leader. No news photos of Tall Charles kissing any Africans.

Your interest in history is to be commended, but your world view of it is so tightened and small. The tree, but not the forest.
Not even sure what you are trying to defend here, will have to look back on your posts to see what kind of "ology" you are proposing or supporting. Whatever it is, I find it awkward and dismaying.

I'm not sure my interest is so distorted. If there's a forest there to see (and not what I'm thinking I can see) then I'm sure you'll tell me.

The study of history doesn't require commentators to defend any "ology" - in fact, if I was doing so (and not applying fundamental principles to every kind of new situation) you'd be entitled to call me prejudiced and potentially unreliable.

I would applaud you, if your observances were towards a goal of any kind of resolution, instead of further disintegration of a peaceful coexistence.

What peaceful coexistence?
We're preparing to plunge the 80 million people of Iran into chaos and suffering, same as we've done to Iraq and Libya, right now. Killings start this summer, very likely, and accelerate from there.
