Are you saying that your mentality is that of the apartheid nation?
Well, no, don't answer that.

Passenger:
Smoking is a filthy, disgusting and dangerous habit.
Alf Garnett:
Dangerous? Dangerous? For your information, the money what come out of the tobacco tax last year was enough to pay for your National Health Service. It's the only thing that keeps the country solvent, innit? Dangerous! Cor blimey, if your country's involved in a war, you can't refuse to come to the colours just because it's bloody dangerous, can yer? People like you who give up smoking because it's dangerous ought to be given white feathers for cowardice, mate. Yeah. I'm smoking for England. And the Queen.
Brilliant.
Start smoking, ya bloody coward!

The queen's claim to fame is allowing Britain to be come unrecognizable. Instead of ruling the waves, she waived the rules.
She is NOT merely a figurehead. Pray tell, to whom is an oath of loyalty taken by her ROYAL Marines, ROYAL Air Force and ROYAL Navy. Sorry, no clues. Those entities were derelict in their duty to protect Britain from alien nation foreign invaders and string-up traitors.
Every schoolboy knows the battle of Hastings was in 1066. Less than one in a thousand can appreciate its true significance.
In a nutshell, the monarch's title and loyalty switched from "King of the English" (DNA) to "King of England (real-estate).
Suffice to say, it was considered unhealthy to smoke around uncle Adolf.

I know my ancestors were there.

We've had this shocking claim from you before.
75% of your ancestors built Stonehenge between 7000 and 4,500 years ago.
For some reason, you prefer to remember the small (2%, 5%?) proportion who arrived as conquerors and settlers and ethnic cleansers.
You're not alone, of course, people who have their DNA tested in this country are only interested in how much Viking they have.

Relatively good article - doesn't tell us how the technology has been changing recently, leading to lithium batteries taking much higher charging rates and (hopefully) lasting longer and longer.
Doesn't tell us where the lithium is coming from and how production is being ramped up.
But does point out that fuel excise is a vital part of the government's revenue and the money will have to be recovered from somewhere else - probably road charging.

No doubt they were the good guys. I often wondered why history books used the term "Norman" when I assumed they were just French. Years later, I discovered the "Normans" ethnic Viking Northmen.

This house actually looks pretty cool!
While it may look like something out of a Star Wars film, this house is actually a council-approved dwelling made entirely out of bags filled with soil.

Cool ? It looks lie a freezing eskimo igloo. I cannot figure out how local soil can cost $40,000.

I think it's the clay that is added to it, perhaps?
Then the bags...
Also, the building permits.
It's 38 degrees today, 39 yesterday. I'd love an igloo!
