Probably true in hindsight. Unfortunately, the scientific consensus at that time was that coronavirus infections were doubling only every 5 to 7 days so a lock down wasn't recommended.
They've since discovered the virus was doubling every 2 to 3 days. They didn't know that at the time.

Who knows? Couple of sisters stabbed in a North London park 10 days ago. Yesterday some chap stabs three to death in a Reading park. Are they connected?
Since the police haven't described this as a terrorist attack, and we know nothing about victims or perpetrator, we'll just have to wait on more info.
