If negotiations are underway it is then only possible because both sides recognize that neither side can win , whether the US is right or wrong their power has pushed the Taliban to negotiate and better jaw jaw than war war

You think the terrorism could stop?

Not going to do so in Jerusalem and Hebron though, is it?

Iran gone Quiet so have the Taliban and even Emperor JKU ( I elevated his status as numbnuts seem to think it was a decent proposition-he would look great in ermines and a tiara)

The indications are that Trump is talking to them directly or indirectly

The power of the US is far greater than most imagine

US President Donald Trump's comments are the latest indication of significant progress in negotiations that the United States and the Taliban have been holding since December in Qatar.

I've come to the conclusion that pacifism (even telling Americans "You've lost this war, Afghans will govern themselves again and you need to stop killing them") is antisemitic.

That was Jeremy Corbyn's real sin, after all. A lifetime fighting racism, often side by side with Jews, wasn't good enough - he didn't think the UK should be attacking other nations and for that he had to be smeared.

Jeremy Corbyn, the man who was in bed with terrorists?

Figured out,  he is your boy.

The deal on troop withdrawals could pave the way for a full withdrawal of foreign soldiers from Afghanistan and represent a step toward ending the 18-year war.

He's trying to leave Afghanistan in the hands of the narco-puppet government that the US has spent 19 years building.

Its shocking that he could succeed - return enough of the profits to the collaborators to keep the Afghan army guarding the poppy fields, selling the product for a knock-down price to the CIA and keep the rest of the population destitute.

If the deal holds it is a strategic triumph for Trump, trying to decry his efforts merely indicate a given mindset

As I previously indicated it is almost certain the Iranians have also buckled and are trying to reach an accommodation with Trump
