The balancedrecoil buffer i mentioned has now been unveiled on IWA show. Part is designed as a drop-in component for a standard ar15 buffer tube ,like counterbalanced Ak uses rack and pinion drive ,

That looks extremely cool man, thanks for sharing.

Look forward to seeing how it performs, and if its legit and makes it to the US, I plan on buying one.

A friend of mine that developed it had it running for almost a year before he patented and launched it  . Will likely be availible trough his US webshop https://usa-shop.armanov.com/

Initaly it was developed for PCCs ,but now also for other AR15 formats.

Have you shot it? If so how effective was it?

So, everything old is new again ;)

The balanced action is more than a century old, and has not proved to be sufficiently effective despite numerous efforts to implement it. For military use, it is too expensive and too dirt-sensitive and maintenance-heavy; for sport shooters, gas regulators and lightened bolt carries do the same trick at a much lesser cost.

But some ideas just refuse to die.

I havent shot it , but i am sure our resident tacticool gearwhores  Polenar Tactical will soon be making some tests , as will folks from TFB that are like BFF with Polenar Tacticool

As for the whole balanced action thing , this thing was mainly developed for IPSC and likes ,  and being an aftermarket drop in part for any Ar15 with a standard buffer tube , its not the same a dedicated balanced recoil actions its part you can choose to use or not without  any modifications needed so could also be tested side by side more viably than a dedicated counter balanced action . I do not expect it being used by the military but we will definetly have it tested by them . While Slovenia is a small (2mio folks) we do have great firearms industry also thanks to probably the best gun laws in EU , lots of new stuff being developed and the military is also eager to get on board with these things.

As far as i am aware there are plans to develop a dedicated bolt carrier and later a PCC, so that buffer mechanism would be engaged all the time, AR15 PCCs that are mostly not to well behaved blow back bolt types Are extremely popular right now as comps and practice can be held on pistol ranges.

I am fresh from IWA shot show , did take a few picts , but honestly was kind of disappointed with new offerings or more lack there off.

Resident tacticool gear whores Polenar Tactical made a short vid on the buffer.

Did Polenar steal a bunch of sales from you or something?

Polenar is catering to a different crowd, but more than anything they are the ones making wids as they are the foremost gun related media company in Europe

I had a small presence on IWA with my SPC-01
