Something new on the block , a local design here in our neck of woods . Still early days but an interesting mashup of concepts

* reckon the Ar forend tube will be replaced by an extended monolithic upper in near future

Patented system (P-201900066) sort of a short stroke piston and DI mashup

Very cool.

That combination of extruded upper receiver with step down removable handguard looks a lot like what's depicted in the Glock Carbine patent drawing.

I looked at details it seems upper is 2 part for easier billet machining and to use steel guide rails , its not at the stage where they would have an upper machined from extrusion.

Gas system cover seems to be separate piece and interfaces with pic rail of Ar15 forends, a bit in line with their modular concept, but i expect that to change once they get production running

Lots of configurations

Cool concept.

The gas piston reminds me of a similar design ("archangel"?) shown here by Nathaniel F.

Maybe that will answer the question if trapping relatively cold gas (with all the "once-gaseous-products-turned-solid-due-to-temperature-drop") is a good idea or not.

Yes, you did!  I just thought that it was strange to try to make a Direct Impingement AK and I failed to see that the second gas block was housing a very short piston.

l love the comment from the video:  "What's the purpose for this AK?   We're not sure yet, but it shows potential."
