Trump has asked for and received the resignation of Jeff Sessions.

Now what, Rosenstein next, then Mueller?

Historians will point to today as the day that the Rule of Law began to unravel.  The beginning of the end of the American Empire.

Rosenstein will now be fired, and his replacement will fire Mueller, and there will be no accountability or responsibility for any member of Trump's inner circle.

Obstruction of justice. There are ethical questions about Whitaker's previous tweets and articles.

This feels like a slow mo Saturday night massacre.

Possibly correct but the opposite could happen if Sessions flips on Trump and confirms obstruction charges.

Who is left for Sessions to flip TO?

Adam Schiff?

And if the House actually files articles of impeachment based on Session's testimony, or based on other testimony, or based on Trump's tax returns...then what?

It's not like the Senate is going to go along.  So NOTHING will happen, EVEN IF the horribly unlikely circumstance of House impeachment happens.  And the gerrymandering and vote-suppression nonsense will continue, and be blessed by the GOP-packed federal courts (there was a REASON that they refused to bring ANY of Obama's nominees to a vote - not just Garland), and we will no longer have a Republic at all, save for the name and the trappings.  Trump will essentially start ruling by executive order, since he knows he won't get anything through the House, and this will be blessed by the GOP-packed courts to the point where Congress becomes irrelevant, and Trump declares himself Fuhrer.

The whole charade is crumbling before our eyes.  The American experiment has failed.  I am so depressed.

I join you in this. There is absolutely nothing that can be done. Thanks to a minority of deplorables.

Keep the faith you two. It was citizens marching who stopped the repeal of Obamacare. Citizens marching may work again. Republicans promised to protect Mueller. Hold them to the promise or expose them as liars.
