Kelowna standoff followed stabbing, carjacking: RCMP
Kelowna RCMP say a 40-year-old man has been taken into custody and is facing a number of potential criminal charges following a lengthy standoff with police.
The man was not named by the RCMP.
Police added that after unsuccessful attempts to call the man out of the Bryden Road home, members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team apprehended the suspect.
Kelowna RCMP say they are continuing their investigation into a string of crimes they believe are connected. Those who witnessed events either in the Arab Road or Bryden Road area and have not spoken to police are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
After two loud bangs, RCMP were seen exiting the area with one man in handcuffs. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to come forward.
