A Toronto woman has been charged in the death of an Iranian activist in Markham last month, police said, adding that they don’t believe his political views were connected to his homicide. York Region police had earlier found Mehdi Amin’s body in a townhouse on Oct. 21. A missing vehicle sought as part of the investigation was located in Toronto by police on Oct. 30. Mohammed Mehdi Amin Sadeghieh -- who went by Mehdi Amin -- was a 58-year-old Iranian-Canadian human rights activist.
