In the US, democracy is unconstitutional.  (But I would prefer democracy.)  52% of the US Senate represents 11% of the US population, mainly the least educated and least productive.  It is a kakistocracy.  But I agree that the GOP is particularly ant-democratic since they oppose statehood for DC and Puerto Rico simply because they are Democratic strongholds.

I'd rename it the anti-progressive party. It is opposed to any new ideas.

A more descriptive name might be the "Willing to fall in line behind and endorse a mentally unstable, autocratic, narcissist party that doesn't give a shit about the nation or its people party," but that's a bit too long.

It also does not say what the deeper purpose, the ultimate goal is.

Seems the ultimate goal is the destruction of democracy and replacing it with a dictatorship led by a mentally deranged lunatic -- just so long as the rich don't have their wealth threatened.

Sure. Well, they must not see it as lunacy. What would be the positive description in their mind and as they see it?

I heard someone on a right wing board complain that the GOP was not overtly challenging the results of the 2020 election. This leads me to believe they silently want to get rid of Trump.

A good idea.  A new mascot too, as the elephant is a far too majestic  animal to have to suffer any more abuse.   I'll let my mind sleep on this idea and see what pops up in the morning.

I think the Republican Party...er...Anti-democracy Party is more analogous to a tapeworm.  So that should be its mascot.
