That is depressing, but not surprising.  2008 behavior by the Catholic church was horrendous - and here in AZ in 2000 and 2004 the Bishop actually endorsed the R candidates from the pulpit, in the bulletin and in some smaller papers.   One Bishop even said that a vote for a D was a vote for abortion -

I think the IRS should crack down...pick the biggest churches that are offending - preferably of several religious beliefs <Catholic, Baptist, Christian, Morman> and nail them!   One time, one sweep.  Done, Ended.
