There is a dark part of me that hopes he becomes very popular with the predators he will encounter during his limited time in jail.
I just hope he wakes up someday and realizes that he's a rapist, with all the ugliness that word can employ.
I'm not sure I agree with this, but it's certainly one point of view. The focus of the story is that the victim's statement had no place in the courtroom, that victim impact statements are contrary to our justice system, where guilt & sentencing should be based on facts that were presented in the trial, and that's all.
Dayum.... I've never heard of this happening before, have you?
