In good news, they've tracked down the couple that paid for those "felony" billboards. Cant look it up right now, but NPR did a story this morning.

To Report Voter Fraud or Intimidation in your state call:

_____

Election Protection voter complaint hotline: 1-866-OUR-VOTE

From the same article:

Voting rights advocates also say there have been scattered complaints of bosses ordering employees to support a particular presidential candidate or face job repercussions. And in the past, students and other groups have been the targets of robocalls falsely saying they can vote on the day after Election Day if the lines are too long.

The facts aren't all in yet, but this "correction" of over 1000 votes seems fishy.

Why hold elections on a week day?

Congressional mandate... other countries vote on weekends though. Congress would have to change the law.

Pity, it makes attending voting harder than need be.

Because in 1788 we were an agricultural society.  Voters were farmers.  November so it was after the harvest and wouldn't keep them from their crops.  Tuesday so they could drive into town on Monday after spending Sunday at church.
