The pure white Japanese phenom just qualified for the Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf . . .    She is something to see:

We were rooting for her.  Great performance.  She is a superstar in Japan.  The Japanese know how to market their race horse stars.  They have it together.

I believe I posted about a year ago some of the "plushies" they put out for their racing stars.   And believe there was actually a Sodashi plushie horse that I posted photos of.

Meanwhile Makoto Keneko (owner) said after this victory she will have more options but it was unlikely she will return to dirt and they haven't thought about overseas trips yet.

Oh yeah here's the type of toy plushies they put out there.  Many racehorses, not just Sodashi:

Interestingly, Oaklawn did a special series of horses with their racing silks on.  I bought 4 and gave 3 away to kids who were horse racing fans.  OF COURSE I kept one for myself, I couldn't help it.

That's a really nice photo. I'm keeping that one.

Of course, the plushies are great because they appeal to children of all ages and especially are great for horse loving kids.  Turn them into fans early in life.

There are also many, many active fan clubs for all the popular Japanese race horse stars.

We could learn a lot from the Japanese if we could shrug off this massively ignorant American exceptionalism we hang ourselves with on a daily basis !

Yes, quite other-worldly, and like an oil painting
