What i learned from that article was that Jim Brown died.  I had not heard that.  Before my time but have seen vids which were incredible.

Heard from another source that possible link between horse deaths and inoculations may be found. No, I am not anti-vaxx. I don't know if they meant there was a bad batch, or if the horse needs to rest a while after getting inoculated for whatever. But anyway the source was pretty sure it would be tracked down and the mystery solved.

ANYTHING placed into the bloodstream can invoke a 12-72 hour *reaction*.

That race where Life At Ten was staggering before the race (and was not scratched but was a DNF) they thought perhaps she had a reaction to lasix.     Never did figure out what it was or at least, I didn't follow up on it.

THat's what the Vet's list is for.   Horses are placed on it when receiving certain meds.   And cannot race until a certain amount of time has passed.

As for vaccines, they are not "meds".  They have a totally different pathway, half life, etc. and are not stored in the body.

Churchill Downs Statement Regarding United States District Court Favorable Ruling in Bob Baffert v. Churchill Downs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Thursday, May 25, 2023) –Churchill Downs is pleased that the Court granted our Motion for Summary Judgement in the Civil Action brought against our company, CEO and Board Chairman by Bob Baffert, resolving in our favor the last remaining claim, just as the Court had ruled in our favor on all of his previous claims. While he may choose to file baseless appeals, this completes the seemingly endless, arduous and unnecessary litigation proceedings instigated by Mr. Baffert.

Our actions to suspend Mr. Baffert following Medina’s Spirit’s confirmed positive for a prohibited race-day substance, coupled with his extensive history of drug violations, was done in the best interest of protecting the integrity of horseracing. Now more than ever, participants and operators in this industry must individually and collectively assume responsibility to take every reasonable measure to protect our equine and human athletes and reject any practice that jeopardizes that mission.

We are encouraged that the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) Anti-Doping and Medication Control (ADMC) Program has gone into effect this month which will allow uniform rules to govern the industry and expedite both the testing and adjudication process which has historically created confounding delays and threatened the confidence and trust of our fans.

As we stated when we suspended Mr. Baffert in June 2021, we reserve the right to extend his suspension and will communicate our decision at the conclusion of the initial two-year suspension period. This U.S. District Court ruling in our favor is a victory in our ongoing actions and steadfast commitment to protecting the safety of our equine and human athletes.

That is a strong statement.  CDI reserves the right to keep Beta Bob on the sidelines.  Some knife twisting going on.

I do not mind it at all.

Just refreshing to see the cheaters, who used to avoid punishment through the courts, getting their cases tossed.

I include the anti-HISA forces in that group.  If you aren't cheating HISA won't affect you at all.

I wonder what they have to say about Forte's *unreported* positive in the Hopeful........and then fast forward from 2010 when Pletcher refused to scratch Life At Ten, though everyone who was not blindfolded saw she was not fit to race.   He loaded her anyway.

Just like he would have with Forte.....had the vets not intervened.  Forte had a foot bruise.   Sort of like Casino Drive did when he came over from Japan......at great expense.......yet they scratched him from the Derby with haste.....they didn't wait to be forced by the vet.

Same judge (female) he got before.   Send love letters.
