Just read Art Collector put down to laminitis. Never heard any mention of that till this news

Big loss. Tex posted it here on the day of. I think Paulick may have had it, too. I read it here.

Just read on The Paulick Report, laminitis claimed the life of Cave Rock!!
Two promising horses dead a day and a half of one another...sad!
RIP Cave Rock

Laminitis is a scourge. The only hopeful note is that more and more money is going into research to identify causes through better diagnostics and earlier detection and intervention, new drug therapies being tested and some progress is already being reported.
Easy to look up online if one is interested enough to do so.

Might be a good idea to start imposing meaningful fines on the cheats and use the money to fund research

Put some of the ill-gotten gains to good use. I like it. I'd also be for a small percentage of winning purses to go to funding laminitis research. Lack of robust funding slows down the science. None of the owners want to lose their horses to a painful and often fatal disease.

I see that now, not sure why I was not seeing that thread when I posted, I refreshed and did not see that topic.
Cave Rock as well? What are the odds a BB trained horse, who makes it to the track, survives much beyond three.
