Not taking anything away from IM, but I never really warmed up to him or his progeny, for the most part.   Did you notice that Rock Your World is standing for only $7,500?  Out of the Spendthrift gang I really like Omaha Beach, Mitole, Vino Rosso, and Mo Don.

Yes, them and the ones like Mandy Pope with her ceiling-shattering broodmare band.  Pretty soon no mere mortals will be able to be racehorse owners.  

If it's the sport of kings though, and we are totally reverting back to that, and that kind of money is needed, so be it........but then let's treat the horses like the royalty that THEY are, too.   Stop messing them up with drugs.   The breeders who were in this game back when it WAS truly the Sport of Kings were not anything like the "commercial breeders" of today.  They didn't need the money, they were captivated by the thoroughbred breed itself, being the magnificent creatures they are.   And kept many homebreds to race themselves.    (no need to go thru those names, we all know who they were.)
