I am seriously considering purchasing a bot for my forum. One of my main questions about it, among others is this....... If I own and program the bot myself, will I have to stay logged into the chat room in order for the bot to stay in there as well? Or, is there a way to leave the bot "parked" in the chat room without the owner/programmer of the bot having to stay logged into the chat room as well? I am asking this because, I have noticed of course, that when the last person leaves the chat room, the chat logs automatically turn off. And so, having a bot to stay "parked" in the chat room, then the logs would always stay on and that is one of my main reasons for wanting a bot in my chat room.
The bot would have to have a separate paying account, at least DelphiExtra, and would always be logged in to keep the room open. Scripts need to be available for approval by Cstar1.
Oh, ok.... Thank you, gunter.
Can we pay for the bot and then give it a Delphi Extra account? Or do we need Delphi Extra to get a new Delphi Extra account for the bot?
There is no extra payment for the bots we supply, they are an option of forums hosted by DelphiPlus members. No need to have a separate DelphiExtra account for each bot unless supplied by a third-party, that will continue to work as before.
The bots need to be set up in Zeta, they will run in Classic after that. Since DelphiPlus Hosts can have any number of rooms, if you like you could have your regular room and other rooms running bots at the same time.
give it a try and let us know how it goes ...
