A troll nic gave a swan song for all his troll nics. How do we know for certain if he followed through with his claim he was burning all his nics?

Are you asking how do you know if an account is closed?

If you click on a closed account you’ll not see the profile, it’ll just lead to the profile index. I’m not sure if that’s immediate though.

Thanks, that's what I thought. He did this yesterday...but the profiles are still there. He has about 20 nasty trolls, a few were zapped the other week by TOS. But they left the man behind the curtain alone...

Actually, Profiles stay open when someone simply  closes an account, we would have to make them disappear internally.

It's been a long-standing request to change that.

Ahhhhhh......so there's really no way to know if someone closed and account. Don't they show up as "guest" in all their posts?. My forum opened in 2000 and we have a ton of "guest" posts

Don't you have the 'ability' to restrict/prohibit guests postings? I'm sure you can but I'm not a Wizard around here.

Guests can't respond to posts.  What I was mentioning was that people that were members of Delphi that closed their accounts became guests. Their posts are still there, but it says guest where the nic is and there's no profile.

You are welcome,

Meddly does have a point though, you can restrict any new (to your forum or Delphi) members from posting by using either Full Moderation (all messages will be moderated from those without Voice, you then grant voice to your regular members and new ones as they are approved) Or using a post waiting period.

If you are interested and need more info or clear instructions - that can be provided here as well.

Delphi also has this advice
