Changing Password Everything Else

Tried changing password. i had to ask for a new one. but it doesnt work, telling it must be between 6 and 16 characters. i used 9. maybe a cookie-problem? thanks

Did you log in with the sent password first?
Type passwords in, do not copy and paste.
When you change it use only letters and numbers, no spaces.
