I assume they are larger on your computer to start? When you use Insert Image From my Computer it resizes them to 400x300 for DelphiBasic, which is not all that small. Add an image here so we can see what you mean.
If you store them on a website , or DelphiPlus Files here, and use From the web they do not get resized.
Granted, I haven't check with a vertical image recently, but those resize to 300 pixels vertically by something quite small horizontally. Any chance you could change that setting to 400 pixels on the longer side?
Also, this is true not just for Basic members, but also the legacy Advanced members.
... Is it possible to make these pictures any larger Gunter? .... many thanks. Dambuster.
It's optimized a for horizontal format which works with messages, this one was 650x406
Let me check a vertical photo:
Looks like it's okay now, vertical is 400 pixels in preview. Well, that'll save me having to upload photos elsewhere. <g>
Edit: Nope, still 300 pixels high - 225px × 300px says the Firefox image info box.
If the image in the message isn't large enough, you do need to store it elsewhere and then use From the Web option we mentioned earlier ... or to get a bit larger by upgrading to DelphiPlus.
Thanks for your prompt reply as always Gunter.
I'll see what I can do!
Many thanks for your advice -
You mean something like this?
Just edit the html source image and add in width="800" or any other number to enlarge it as follows:
<img src="https://forums.delphiforums.com/dir-docs/hosts/6D117F82-C877-4B98-8D8F-224C05905256/IMG_1065.JPG" width="800" />
But you have to do it in HTML source mode.
WoW! Thanks Walter!
I'll have a go!
That will enlarge it in the web browser itself, and the quality will be only as good as the viewer's browser makes it. The actual image will still be at the 400x300 pixels or whatever Delphi resized it to. That said, today's browsers do a much better job of enlarging images than yesteryear's browsers.
