Is Naomi in heaven? She accepted Christ? She fought a public fight with depression, I consider that a huge and personally hard step to take, especially with her so famous. What do you think?
Ginger>You know that old saying.....'You can sit in a garage and call yourself a car but that doesn't mean that you are'. Did she just go through the motions of religiosity or did she get in the Word and use it to battle her thinking (disease?) A lot of people walk the aisle and say they accepted Christ but they seem to leave it at that and have no interest in getting into the Bible to see what is actually said. We are to put on the full armor of God to fight daily battles not only in this world but from ourselves.
Ephesians 6:10-20
The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to
Ginger>In short, I don't know. It's between her and God.
bob>All life is precious to God, but not to us. I do know people who suffer, and I mean suffer with bi - polar illness. It's consuming, it's terrible and it's a brain disorder, chemical imbalance of some sort, I think. I know people who get drugs for this and it helps them alot and those where it doesn't help them. Our addiction program has many with mental illness or emotional illness, as their lives have been terrible from the start and they self medicate to escape their illness if not for just a few hours. God will take this into His perfect assessment aand make the right decision, as you know.
