This is actually pretty relevent to me right now as I recently started getting prescribed D3 to help bring up my counts that were a bit on the low side.

I've been taking Vitamin D3 2000 units for a good while now.  I suppose it helps.  My primary care doctor an internist check the levels when doing othe blood work.

I just began being prescribed them after my last blood test as it's starting to slip a little on the low side. It's a common side effect of kidney disease unfortunately.

And P.S.
