Romans 5:14   Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

similitude of Adam’s transgression?  =  overt disobedience for commandment clearly from GOD.  Adam was the figure of Him who was to come?  =  the spotless alpha of GODs reality with men, far as he was from being perfected.   Our JW friends will tell us Adam is totally lost, after all, all this suffering was brought upon us by his disobedience.  As though obedience to GOD can be perfected in any life not totally formed by GOD  = alpha and Omega.

Many forget that according to Gen 5:1-2 God called THEIR name Adam (BOTH male AND female) and that the woman did not have any other name until AFTER the fall (Gen 3:20).

1 Tim 2:14 identifies which part of Adam was in the transgression and Rom 5:14 identifies which part of Adam fulfilled the SAME position as the Lord Jesus Christ (He who was to come) by willingly surrendering himself to death in order to stand in the breach between his fallen wife and a Holy God.

Therefore, yes it WAS "Adam" which fell, but WHICH part of Adam? It was the female, and which part of Adam stood in the breach for her? It was the male, doing the SAME for her (his wife) that the Lord Jesus Christ did for the Church (His Wife), by surrendering Himself to death on the cross, in order to reconcile us back to God.

It should NOT be a surprise that the male did this for the female, because he was created in the image and likeness of God, and Emmanuel had the SAME purpose for us. Therefore, to condemn the male for being such a "sinner" (while he was still in the image and likeness of God) is to (by proxy) do the SAME to the Lord Jesus Christ who did the SAME for us.

By the grace of God, I will NOT accuse the Lord Jesus Christ of being a "sinner" because of Him dying on the cross, because THAT was the very greatest expression of His Holiness and Love for us.

Shalom,

Amen, beautiful.  The second Adam did it with no disobedience, and thereby brought all those in Him((Bride)) out of the realm of being overcome.
