I love you with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3 GW)

Jeremiah is a wonderful book. In it is the revelation of:

1. What God wants from us. He wants us to come to Him, the fountain of living water, and drink.

Jeremiah 2:13   For My people have committed two evils: / They have forsaken Me, / The fountain of living waters, / To hew out for themselves cisterns, / Broken cisterns, / Which hold no water.

2. What we are in our fallen condition:

Jeremiah 17:9   The heart is deceitful above all things, / And it is incurable; / Who can know it?

Jeremiah 13:23  Can the #### change his skin, / Or the leopard his spots? / Then you also may be able to do good, / Who are accustomed to do evil.

3. What Christ is to us:

Jeremiah23:5   Indeed, days are coming, / Declares Jehovah, / When I will raise up to David a righteous Shoot; / And He will reign as King and act prudently / And will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
23:6   In His days Judah will be saved, / And Israel will dwell securely; / And this is His name by which He will be called, / Jehovah our righteousness

There is none righteous, there is none who seeks after God, not so much as one. We cannot change or reform ourselves. Salvation is to come to God as the fountain, the source, and receive Him, take Him in, drink Him. In this way Christ, the embodiment of the Triune God as the Spirit becomes our righteousness. He becomes to us righteousness from God.

1 Corinthians  1:30   But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God: both righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

Amen:   And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
