The Holy Spirit has come in relation to the end, and the end is the inheritance in Christ, and flesh moved by Satan rises up to frustrate that end, and to rob you of the inheritance.

Here is Paul's "mission statement."

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

To receive an inheritance. What is this inheritance? It is depicted in the Old Testament as a portion of the good land allotted to each tribe. The type in the Old Testament and the reality in the New Testament would make a good thread. Can we testify what this inheritance is and cite the reference verses?

Here is one:

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

"Meet to be partakers" means to be qualified for a share.

"the inheritance" is the word for "lot" as in cast lots. It means an allotted portion.
We thank the Father who has qualified us for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light. If we see this, we will praise the Father for this!

What we inherited is from adoption by Jesus into his family, so we get what he inherited from God forever.

Amen.

Acts 26:18 has these two phrases: "deliver them from the power of Satan to God" and "that they may receive...an inheritance."

This corresponds to the Old Testament picture of God's great salvation in Exodus.

Exodus 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey;

"Delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians" would equal "deliver them from the power of Satan to God"

and, "bring them into a good land flowing with milk and honey" would equal "receive and inheritance"

This is a great matter. Salvation has two parts. Part one is Christ as our Passover Lamb to be delivered out of the power of Satan. Part two is Christ as our Joshua, to bring us into our inheritance. The "so great salvation" mentioned in Hebrews 2:3 is not referring to part one, but to part two, inheriting the good land, receiving the inheritance.

Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

It is possible to neglect this part of salvation.

   Paul replied:  Amen, TAS ungirds this wonderfully in Pioneers of the heavenly way.  I'm cutting and pasting this edifying teaching in the tread: Looking for that City.
