Based on Malachi 3:16-18 I believe the Lord will harken to us as we consider his word together.

What we inherited is from adoption by Jesus into his family, so we get what he inherited from God forever.

Amen.

Acts 26:18 has these two phrases: "deliver them from the power of Satan to God" and "that they may receive...an inheritance."

This corresponds to the Old Testament picture of God's great salvation in Exodus.

Exodus 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey;

"Delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians" would equal "deliver them from the power of Satan to God"

and, "bring them into a good land flowing with milk and honey" would equal "receive and inheritance"

This is a great matter. Salvation has two parts. Part one is Christ as our Passover Lamb to be delivered out of the power of Satan. Part two is Christ as our Joshua, to bring us into our inheritance. The "so great salvation" mentioned in Hebrews 2:3 is not referring to part one, but to part two, inheriting the good land, receiving the inheritance.

Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

It is possible to neglect this part of salvation.

   Paul replied:  Amen, TAS ungirds this wonderfully in Pioneers of the heavenly way.  I'm cutting and pasting this edifying teaching in the tread: Looking for that City.
