Bill Anderson had a song titled "Still" but I can't find one titled "Still the One."

STILL BY BILL ANDERSON

SAD SONG FROM BILL ANDERSON

There is a song titled "Still the One" by Orleans. That's what I thought of when I saw the title.

from Wikipedia

"Still the One" is a song written by Johanna Hall and John Hall, and recorded by the soft rock group Orleans on their album Waking and Dreaming, released in 1976, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Still the One" was notably recorded by American country singer-songwriter Bill Anderson, on December 13, 1976 in Nashville, Tennessee. It was released as a single in 1977 via MCA Records and became a major hit the following year. It was featured on his Scorpio album.

-------

Bill Anderson also had a hit song he wrote and recorded in 1963 called "Still". This song is mostly spoken in the two verses, rather than sung, except for the repeated refrains, that are done with a female chorus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMtIVKZ2WJk If you listen you can hear it is not the same song as "Still the One". Don't you have the 45rpm for this song?  relaxed

As you can see the two songs were written by different people and recorded in different decades.

Interesting. I didn't see that. Thanks for correcting me, Energy. And no, I don't have a 45 of either of those songs. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I have an LP for Bill Anderson.

TinyFaerie, sorry about that. It appears that your post was correct afterall.
