Yep! "Please wait" is ever present and actually longer than "normal" especially opening gifts.  My main game froze with no way to close it but a hard shutdown of the laptop.

OK  I logged into Game Manager and verified  that I had the latest version of Game Manager.  Then  changed update to manual.  Checked for updates and told there weren't any.  So What now? One suggestion was to create a backup, uninstall game and reload.  Not sure how to create a backup of the game.

Just open your game!cit will update by itself!

The easiest way to do this is to backup to a flashdrive the entire Elephant Games folder which exists on you PC. I've included a link to instructions by Dhyani here in the forum. These are for restoring your game to a new PC. You won't have to do all of the steps ... just the backup steps.

        Okay.  One last step.  Did you try opening the game tonight now that the new day has switched over?  Sometimes that triggers it. If not, I'll walk you through the process of making a back up (which is good to have anyway in case ever you need to switch computers).  Once we've done that, you'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game.  You shouldn't lose progress, but that's what the backup is for.  First, go ahead and try opening it one more time.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for everyone. That only works if you received the update automatically. There were a lot of us who didn't receive the update automatically or even when we tried it find it manually.

       LvlSlgr beat me to it!  There are excellent directions for making a backup there.  If you have any questions, let us know, but do go ahead and try opening the game one more time.

I have mine always on manual, but it did not show an update, by just opening the game it did it all by its little self! Hugs and best wishes for a wonderful holiday!

Di, that's surprising since you had you on "manual". I had mine on "manual" also. My Game Manager had something about MC - I can't remember exactly what it was - that made me think there might be an update. It wasn't the thing you normally see, I know that. So I went to the downloads and clicked for it to look for one and nothing. So then I went ahead and opened MC and nothing. I tried a few things and finally decided to just uninstall and reinstall the game.

I am officially finished with work for 2021! The office doesn't open again until 10 January. That's 17 blissful days in a row, and I only had to take 4 annual leave days. I love the January stat holidays!
