Hi Della,

Sorry you are disappointed with the forum.  But the MC community is more than just the game, and friends are more than just strangers sending gifts to your inbox.

You will find different folders that focus solely on all aspects of the game alone, so you can easily avoid the folders devoted to general socialisation and random absurdity.

I would be sad to hear you quit the game entirely because of a bad experience here.

Hope you return soon,

Jenifer.

How hard this must be on everyone.  Praying for you and all those working, living, or loving that facility.

Glad to hear you're still feeling well.  Take care.

Status report: April 3 was the last time I went inside the grocery story. Since then I have ordered online and had my order placed in my car trunk when I went to pickup. This applies to groceries, pet food, and the new computer I bought. My pharmacy has a drive-up window and I occasionally go to a fast food drive-thru. In May, I had to get my car battery replaced and in September one tire went flat (the other 3 were replaced last year), but the car place has good social distancing in their waiting area. I was able to have my prescription refill "appointment" with the doctor by phone, but had to go to the lab for blood work. I did participate in a protest at the post office for about an hour in August - about 20 people in masks, social distant. That's about it, although when it gets really hot I take some water out to the mail carrier.

Thoughts: Its a really good thing that I'm retired and don't have to work. Also, now that I don't have to go to an office I can indulge my inner introvert. Things are a little boring, but I have a cat, internet, TV, and phone. My daughter keeps in touch. So I'm good. Wish everybody had as easy a time as I do. Take care.

NZ appears to have stamped out the latest outbreak, and life should be back to completely normal for the whole country on Thursday. At the moment it is just Auckland that has been at Alert Level 2, but that ends at 11.59pm on Wednesday.

Interestingly they have revealed where the last two outbreaks came from (they were simultaneous). Both were from managed quarantine hotels for people returning from overseas. One was picked up by a maintenance worker touching an elevator button that a later to be diagnosed person in quarantine had touched before him. And the second was from a rubbish bin lid in a quarantine hotel. Cleaning at quarantine hotels is now being looked at, and all rubbish bins will now be lidless!

This is good news as it means both outbreaks came in from overseas, and were not originally community transmission. Both were strains most commonly seen in the UK. What is sad is that, for lack of cleaning of an elevators buttons, 3 people died. No one died from the bin lid incident.

It is all a bit like a game of whack-a-mole. It pops up, you stamp it back down, it pops up somewhere else, and stamp stamp stamp we go. We are getting very good at whack-a-mole. Contact tracing that we have in place managed to stop the third outbreak at only 6 people.

DEAR Tammy27, I went back and reread all your updates and crying for you and your losses as well as fears.  You and all doc, RNs, office workers, Lab techs, ambulance ERTs Janitors  and everyone working so hard for so long.

GOD Bless National Guard for riding to the rescue  and everyone there as well as friends and loved ones who worry and wait.

Wish we could give medals showing how wonderful you all are and how respected.

I read all the roll calls and pray for you all. So glad we have this forum for keeping in touch.  From Tec issues game advice books to read Fun and games and Political text.

I have been in my house since February because of Covid19 and Chemo /radiation has left me with no immunities , out 4 times for medical tests and doc visits.  I see no one but my daughter and wave to mail and deliveries. So Forum is my world. Good and bad.

All Discussions are like TV, if you want to see do so if not skip through. I want to hear from all of you.

Tammy i always check your text to be able to give you an "atta boy" or hugs. Hoping it helps in some small way. As i do others. Who ever I missed you are also in my prayers.

Stay safe ware masks wash hands keep your distance.

BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!

P.S. when plague is over can I come see NZ. Want to see everything but will not overlook a volcano.

Thank you for your kind words.

Since my last update my workplace did another round of testing yesterday. I didn't have to participate for this one since I'm in quarantine. I was contacted this morning by our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) who informed me that if I'm not running a fever (I haven't had one) for 72 hours prior to Mon Oct 12th then I can return to work that day.  I have to say that for some reason I got, I hate to call it lucky since I know how horrible this virus is, lets say blessed that I didn't have any major symptoms.  The only thing I experienced was an increase in pain around my neck area where I'm currently dealing with a work injury.  So either I had a very low viral load or the test was wrong (which I hope not, it was my 7th one by the way).

We also had another resident pass away. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Stay safe and wear your mask!!

Sure, come on over. We love tourists.  No volcanos in my neck of the woods.

So an update. After facility wide testing on Tues we have 6 more residents, but 0 staff test positive.

This is from their Facebook page:

Since the COVID Pandemic first began, we have had 38 residents and 27 staff members test positive for COVID-19. We are saddened to say we have had 9 residents pass away after testing positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the outbreak. As of today, we have had 6 residents graduate from the COVID unit.

As you can see we are still not out of the woods.  We will have testing again on the 13th. I'm not sure if I will have to test again (because of my positive test I may have a 3 month reprieve) however, I will follow my employer's guidelines.

I continue to not have any major symptoms so I'm on course to return to work on Monday the 12th. I want to thank all of you in the forum and in my MC game for your thoughts and prayers, I greatly appreciated them.

Stay safe and wear your mask!!
