Necktie  - A necktie, or simply a tie, is a piece of cloth worn (traditionally by men) for decorative purposes around the neck, resting under the shirt collar and knotted at the throat, and often draped down the chest. Variants include the ascot, bow, bolo, zipper tie, cravat, and knit. The modern necktie, ascot, and bow tie are descended from the cravat. Neckties are generally unsized, but may be available in a longer size. In some cultures men and boys wear neckties as part of regular office attire or formal wear. Some women wear them as well but usually not as often as men. Neckties are traditionally worn with the top shirt button fastened, and the tie knot resting between the collar points. There are four main knots used to knot neckties. In rising order of difficulty, they are:

  • the four-in-hand knot. The four-in-hand knot may be the most common.
  • the Pratt knot (the Shelby knot)
  • the half-Windsor knot
  • the Windsor knot (also redundantly called the "full Windsor" and the "Double Windsor").

Comment: My dad taught me how to tie a necktie. He said it was something I needed to know. He was right. My ex-husband had no idea how to do it and I always had to do it for him. BTW ... I taught my son ... LOL

Richard Quinn - is a fashion and print designer based in London. On 20 February 2018 Queen Elizabeth II attended Quinn's Autumn/Winter 2018 runway show at London Fashion Week. This marked the first time that the Queen had attended a commercial runway show.  After the show finished, Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council introduced the Queen who presented Quinn with the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. On 7 May 2018 Amal Clooney, wife of actor George Clooney, created a stir when she chose to wear a Quinn design to the Met Gala in New York' Metropolitan Museum of Art, instead of a gown designed by Tom Ford's fashion team, which was the original plan. Clooney's choice helped bring Quinn to the attention of the international fashion world.

Shacket (A shacket is mixture of the word shirt and jacket. It is as shirt with long jacket sleeves, a hood, and fabric that has the thickness of a jacket. It doesn't have a zipper in which most jackets have that why shirt is part of the word)

Vests - Commonly called a vest in the United States and Canada, the term waistcoat is used in the United Kingdom and many Commonwealth countries. A vest/waistcoat is a sleeveless upper-body garment. It is usually worn over a dress shirt and necktie and below a coat as a part of most men's formal wear. It is also sported as the third piece in the traditional three-piece male suit. Any given vest can be simple or ornate, or for leisure or luxury. Historically, the vest can be worn either in the place of or underneath a larger coat dependent upon the weather, wearer, and setting.

Comment: Back in the late 80s and early 90s I had several different vests which I wore to work with my dress slacks. It was a way of being able to wear the same slacks and shirt/turtleneck more than once but it looked different because of the vest.
