Daniel R. "Dan" Fielding - portrayed by John Larroquette, is a ficitonal character on the TV show Night Court. Night Court aired on NBC from January 4, 1984, to May 31, 1992. The setting was the night shift of a Manhattan municipal court presided over by a young, unorthodox judge, Harold "Harry" T. Stone (portrayed by Harry Anderson). Fielding is a sex-obsessed narcissistic prosecutor, who would do almost anything to get a woman to sleep with him. It was hinted that he frequented dominatrices. He was the source of many witty and sometimes cruel remarks regarding almost every other character, although he occasionally showed compassion. When his homeless lackey Phil died, the ever-greedy Dan was excited to discover that Phil was in fact wealthy and expected to be the beneficiary of his millions, only to learn that Phil's will put Dan in charge of the Phil Foundation, tasked to give away Phil's entire fortune to worthy causes.

Hans Gruber (is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the 1988 action film Die Hard portrayed by Alan Rickman. Gruber is a cunning thief and criminal mastermind from Germany who holds the Nakatomi Plaza hostage to steal $640 million in negotiable bearer bonds. His plan is foiled by New York cop John McClane, who happened upon Gruber's plot by mistake. Since his first appearance, Gruber has been cemented as one of the most iconic villains in film history – as well as often being ranked as the greatest action movie villain of all time and one of Rickman's most iconic roles. The villain became so popular with movie fans, the producers introduced his brother, Simon, as the primary antagonist of the third film in the franchise – Die Hard with a Vengeance)

While no one could argue that Rickman is one of the finest actors to ever grace the big screen, there's a lot more to the punch of Hans Gruber's death than just acting talent and years of stage experience. Although the actor recalls producers being uneasy about the prospect, Rickman agreed to do the fall scene himself when asked by director, John McTiernan, looking to add authenticity to the death. Rickman was rigged to be dropped backwards onto a blue crash mat on the count of 3, however, Die Hard stunt coordinator, Charlie Picerni, devised a plan to drop Rickman at "one" in order to provoke a genuine reaction of shock. Whether by design or fortunate coincidence, this was the final scene Die Hard filmed, meaning any protests Rickman might've made about being dropped 2 seconds too early wouldn't have caused any problems, and nor would any injuries that came as a result....

J. Michael "Mickey" Haller, Jr. - is a fictional character created by Michael Connelly in the 2005 novel The Lincoln Lawyer. Haller, a Los Angeles-based defense attorney, is the paternal half-brother of Connelly's best-known character, LAPD Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch. The Mickey Haller series consists of seven published novels, with the most recent published in 2020. A film adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer, starring Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller, was released in the spring of 2011.

Comment: The Lincoln Lawyer is the first Michael Connelly book I read. I have since read almost all of his books that feature Harry Bosch and/or Mickey Haller.

Stanely Ipkiss (is the main protagonist of The Mask film and animated series. Ipkiss' job in the comic was never revealed, but in the film, he's a bank teller. In the film, Stanley is played by the Canadian actor Jim Carrey. In the cartoon series, he's voiced by Rob Paulsen. In the comic series, he is a minor character and has a much different temperament)

Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson - (portrayed by Kyra Sedgwick) is a fictional character and the main protagonist featured in TNT's The Closer. She heads the Major Crimes Division (formerly the Priority Homicide Division) of the Los Angeles Police Department. She is portrayed as an intelligent, determined, exacting woman. The character has a tendency to offend coworkers and other people involved in her cases but is skilled at determining the facts of a crime, compelling confessions, and closing cases. Thus, she is "a closer." An expert at interrogations, Brenda has a long history in law enforcement. She worked for the police in Atlanta, where she is born and raised, and later for the U.S. State Department as well as the CIA.  Brenda's trademark is her "honeyed Georgia cadence", and her catchphrase is, "Thank you; thank you so much" (usually said out of ingrained politeness to her coworkers but just as usually said in an exaggerated or somewhat sarcastic tone to suspects or other outsiders). If she cannot arrest and convict a criminal then she will visit other avenues to bring them to what she considers justice -- such as having them imprisoned in a foreign jail or leaking certain details to third parties to get the accused killed. Although she largely gets away with this unethical and dangerous conduct in earlier seasons (Pope and her squad either cannot or will not challenge her on it), it eventually lands her in trouble.

Comment: Another favorite show of mine when it as on (2005-2012). When this show ended with Brenda Leigh leaving the LAPD, another show Major Crimes picked right up with pretty much the same concept and cast. However, they had a new leader, Sharon Raydor played by Mary McDonnell. That show lasted for 6 seasons.

Professor Robert Langdon - is a fictional character created by author Dan Brown for his Robert Langdon book series: Angels & Demons (2000), The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009), Inferno (2013) and Origin (2017). He is a Harvard University professor of history of art and "symbology" (a fictional field related to the study of historic symbols, which is not methodologically connected to the actual discipline of semiotics). Tom Hanks portrays Langdon in the Robert Langdon film series, starting with the 2006 film adaptation of The Da Vinci Code, reprising the role in the 2009 film adaptation of Angels & Demons, and again in the 2016 film adaptation of Inferno, while Ashley Zukerman plays a younger version of the character in the TV series, The Lost Symbol.

Comment: Another book series that I'm a fan of. A couple of these books are over 600 pages, but they're still harad to put down. I've read all in this series.

Oscar the Grouch - is a Muppet character created by Jim Henson and Jon Stone for the children's television program Sesame Street. He has a green body, no visible nose, and lives in a trash can. Oscar's favorite thing is trash, as evidenced by the song "I Love Trash", with a running theme being his collection of seemingly useless items. Although the term "Grouch" aptly describes Oscar's misanthropic interaction with the other characters, it also refers to his species. The character was originally performed by Caroll Spinney from the show's first episode until his official retirement in 2018. Eric Jacobson began understudying for the character in 2015, and officially took on the full role after Spinney's retirement in 2018.
